If you're new to sports betting in India, odds can be confusing. This guide explains exactly how to read decimal odds (used on Linebet, MegaPari), convert them to win probability, and know instantly if a bet has value.
Indian betting apps use decimal odds. They're simple: multiply your stake by the odds to get your total return (including your original stake).
Every odds number implies a probability. Formula: Implied probability = 1 / decimal odds
Add up the implied probabilities for all outcomes of any market. They'll always total more than 100%. The excess is the bookmaker's margin (vig).
Example: Home 2.0, Draw 3.2, Away 4.5
Implied: 50% + 31.25% + 22.2% = 103.45%
The bookmaker's margin is 3.45%. For every ₹100 bet across all outcomes, they keep ₹3.45 on average.
If you think a team has 55% chance of winning but the odds imply only 40% (odds 2.5), it's a value bet. MalluSports does this automatically for every pick using our AI model.
