Why Dutch football produces so many goals, what that does to over/under pricing, and where the market lags.
The Eredivisie consistently produces more goals per match than any other major European league. Dutch football culture prizes attacking play, defensive lines are high, and the gap between the top clubs and the bottom half is wide enough to produce regular heavy scorelines.
For over/under markets this changes the baseline entirely. A line that would be aggressive in Italy is standard in the Netherlands, and bettors who carry assumptions from other leagues systematically misjudge it in both directions - overrating unders in top-versus-bottom fixtures and underrating them in tight games between organised mid-table sides.
The secondary effect is on correct score and multi-goal markets, where the distribution is genuinely wider than in lower-scoring leagues. That makes range bets more attractive here than almost anywhere else in Europe.
