Your First Month of Betting: What to Actually Do

A realistic plan for thirty days: stake size, record keeping, review, and what success looks like.

Decide the total amount you are prepared to lose entirely. Divide it by a hundred. That is your unit, and it does not change for the whole month regardless of what happens.

Place no more than two or three bets a day, in markets you can actually explain. Record every one: date, selection, market, price taken, stake, result, and the price at kickoff. The last field is the one you will be tempted to skip and the one that will teach you the most.

At the end of thirty days, do not look at the profit. Look at whether you beat the closing price more often than not, and at which markets you were strongest in. Success in month one is a complete record and a stake plan you did not break, not a positive number.

Key points

Frequently asked

How much should I start with?
Only what you can lose entirely without it mattering. If no such amount exists, do not start.
How many bets should I place?
Few. Two or three a day in markets you understand beats twenty across markets you do not.
What if I lose in the first month?
Entirely normal and says almost nothing. Thirty days is far too small a sample to judge anything except your own discipline.
